Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails, La Fortuna

The food at the lodge was plentiful and delicious. Breakfast was especially noteworthy, featuring a wide array of options. I enjoyed creative dishes that complemented the beautiful views of the volcano from the dining area. Watching various birds from the restaurant's terrace added an extra layer to the dining experience.

I stayed in a Smithsonian Room that offered amazing views of the Arenal volcano and lush gardens. The room was spacious, clean, and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay, including a strong ceiling fan and a lovely balcony where I could unwind and watch the birds.

The spring-fed pool was a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. The hot pool was great for unwinding while surrounded by nature. It was the ideal way to recharge for the adventures that awaited me on the trails.

The well-marked trails throughout the lodge were an absolute delight. I enjoyed several 5km walks, witnessing stunning views and a variety of wildlife, including howler monkeys and colorful birds. The trails were easy to navigate and provided a fantastic way to connect with nature.
